Backlogs of overfat animals not having a place to slaughter are at risk here. It is actually great for feed demand since a 250-300 pound hog eats a ton and has horrible feed efficiency. It has more to do with profitability of raising the animals. Look at the meat isle of the nearest wall mart. It is bare and every time the is a shipment it get used up rapidly.
