East Central South Dakota
Ethanol plants are bleeding red ink and every one will be run differently based on that plants economics which are based on Ethanol,CO2, DDG and wet distillers contracts that plants have with consumers. That being said, what will shut down or cause a drastic idle down will be ethanol storage. Plant storage is full, blending storage is full, tankers on rail are full and gas stations are full. You can't make a product that can't be stored anywhere and like one poster said ---you can't pile it.
