I would see how involved they want to be. It could very well turn into it basically being yours like rent ground and you do things when you would do it.
Or they could want to make all the management decision and you be a tractor driver moreless.
I have a friend that custom farms for a couple different people. They tell him to "Just handle it and send me the bill" so the retailer has an account for that land owner.
When he comes in and buys chem and seed they charge the right amount of acres worth of product to the landowner but deliver it all to the farmer. Usually on separate skids to keep things clean with two bills.
He has one farm that he is the tractor driver. Older retired farmer that still wants to be a farmer so he makes the decisions and gives the farmer a 3 day window to go do it.
Works for them in either case your mileage may vary. Good luck! | |
