Texas/New Mexico Stateline
Exactly. Try to put a post-it note on a basket ball and have it lay completely flat without wrinkles.

Some of our quarters are very square, some are longer on two sides compared to the others. Just have to realize that farming every sq. inch is not really worth fighting about in most cases.

I always heard some of the early surveys over here on the Texas side the used a rag tied to a wagon wheel to measure. You can really tell as things are very crooked.

In New Mexico the government had everything professionally surveyed for the Homestead Act and things are much straighter. But still have a correction line every 6 miles or so.
