Subject: Cover Cropping Bare Compacted Headlands, What Mix and Rate?

WC MN
I put up a post about alleviating compaction in headland last year and I am thinking about giving up on the ripper and switching to cover crops as soon as the crop looks dead in the spots. The high traffic truck spots along side approaches and the major spots like that. Hoping it can maybe fix it a little every year and with any luck during harvest those spots won't be swamps for the trucks to avoid or blow through at 20 mph every time. Id say by mid July corn about gives up and soybeans are even before that. So plenty of time in my climate to get a cover crop established. Just wondering what kindve mix I should put in and rate? Ive never dealt with cover crops and plan to spin them on and drag them in with a four wheeler since we are talking an acre here and there in a couple fields.
