Subject: RE: Pasture Grazing Readiness

West Central Illinois
20 hd of 400ish lb. stocker calves on a 1% bw ddg/corn mixture, figured i'd like to keep them close to the barn/lot for the first week after I give them their 2nd round of shots and lute. After that I have the bigger pastures on the place next door to this where they spend most of the year. This 5 acres i can subdivide into 3 parts where the last few years i've alternated what grass they graze first in the spring to alternate. I prefer to keep them close that first week on grass and for a few days after any vaccines just to keep close watch on them and have the squeeze chute setup nearby if any health issues come up.
