Bow Island, Alberta | We have a Brandt with the 9/16 tines. It has a tendency to start bouncing under certain conditions. I'm not sure this is a function of the design or just the conditions we use it in. Generally, we only use on irrigated wheat stubble in the fall, when it's hot and dry, to break up and spread straw that may not have been chopped or spread well with the combine. If you don't see a big cloud of dust, then it's not dry enough.
If we use it in the spring, we find it breaks all the stubble and makes bunches that can't be seeded through. | |
