Subject: RE: IH 786 paul

over taxed nebraska
machined true with the crankshaft mounting surface. I prefer grinding a flywheel over lathe, the lathe can ride over hard spots on surface and not leave a true flat surface. I have seen many a flywheel ground and many were done the time before very sloppy and were not 'true'. that is one reason a clutch may be 'grabby'

that 786 clutch is the same as a 560,706, 756, 766, 806, 826,856, 886, 986 and 966. they can be had in 4 pad, 6 pad light, and 6 pad heavy duty. not sure if there are and solid fiber disc made for these tractors. I have never seen one

there are 2 786s around here, I have had them both in the shop
