Baby Robin - 3/26/2020 11:19 Futures market gives my banker a "view" at what stuff will be worth in the future. Otherwise, price is just the price today.... right in front of my nose. How do you plan 285 days ahead of a calf being born? How would you plan otherwise? If boxed beef price drops.... tomorrow..... none of us would have the "opportunity" to see what price in future could be to prop / counteract the swing? Why raise anything.... Be careful what you wish for... esp. in times of crisis. True. Just require that buyers take delivery. Problem solved.
