Subject: Striptill and Pell lime

Crete, Ne
Picked up a farm for this year, got it grid sampled and the ph is in the upper 5. Will get it limed next fall. For this year gonna make a strip till pass, was wondering if pell lime would work going thru a Montag, and if 100#of pell lime to the acre would be worth the effort. Would be mixing it with 150# of mesz, 100# of 0-0-60, and nh3 if it get dry enough to run a knife. My thought is since banding the fertilizer is so much more efficient, the pell lime in the strip would raise the ph making the fertilizer work better. I have no problem trying it to see if it work, just wanna make sure it can go thru the Montag without a problem.
Thanks
John
