Yes I have thought about the possibility of taking a "normal" disaster and exaggerating it to take more control. "Never let a good crisis go to waste". But saying such things gets the people really worried about this virus (with good reason to be concerned) panties all in a wad. So most of us keep quiet. In the past wars were used to rally people around a disaster, financial or otherwise. People quit worrying so much about how miserable their lives are financially if they are engaged in some greater "crisis". So perhaps pandemics are the crisis now than the past bogey man war. Just a speculative thought that we likely will not realize anything for years. Some of the stuff of past wars (and things like the Kennedy assassination) were sealed for years, long after most people cared any more, I just realized I had never invested the last Roth IRA contributions. Sitting on cash in the account. Now what to buy. LOL John |
