Subject: RE: Planting beans before snow

central - east central Minnesota -

momo - 3/23/2020 14:35 Plant some acres yesterday. Todey 2" snow ,expect 2 days 2" more and low temp 29 ,high 38f. After 3 days forecast temp daily high 54. What to expect ?

I've planted soybeans in early April (generally, late to early may planted beans for my local), and the day after got 6 inchs of snow on them. Took 5 days to melt the snow off, the was sunny after that. They beans came up and yielded very well for the soil and were earlier to harvest. At that time, it was common to plant 200,000 plants per acre - that likely saved me . . . .  . .
