S.E. Iowa | Got a dog that is almost 7 months old, Blue Heeler/ Australian Shepherd mix. Had him since he was 6 weeks old and has been fixed. He likes to chew, his bedding, and he gets into the recyclables. I get after him a little when I catch him doing it, but not real upset. Tonight I come home, he had been in the barn and had a package of Shaffert firmers in his mouth. He came up to the truck and still had them in his mouth. I was livid instantly ,spanked his rear and repeatedly said "bad". He cowered down, I dragged him over and tied him up which he had never been tied up before. I left and was gone 25 minutes. When I came back he had the rope under tension lying on the ground. I went over and untied him. He stayed close to me while I changed a tire in the shop. Did I do something wrong? I don't really want to get rid of him but tearing up parts I will. He has numerous chew toy which he does nothing with. | |
