coast of Maine
I never rely on one variety of any crop,as a young farmer I found this wonderful variety(cant remember but maybe cukes) thats all I planted cause it was great, next year almost all succumbed to a disease in the seed, always diversify in the veg world is my rule. Its way to cold here for in ground warm season but have another house with pure cucumbers raised beds, they hate cold feet(18 degrees here).but they will take 2 weeks to really start to move well.ITs about 45 days bloom to ripe fruit with heat,I have gained tremendous time by growing to prebud in gallon pots with tomatoes.Try that and you will be astounded the speed of take off, here is photo of how the bumble bees are beating the heck out of the blossoms today
