Subject: Value of wet bales alfalfa

West Central Illinois
In 2019 we wet baled and wrapped 1st cutting alfalfa, I have a neighbor that sells all his alfalfa hay, typically round bales 5 x 6 dry bales. My son asked them if they’d consider wet baling the 1st cutting and we could buy them, haul home same day it’s baled, wrap them. Different neighbor custom wraps, 2019 was my 1st time wet baling and he had me set baler on 56 inches. Getting a smaller bale but yes it’s heavy, but still got more bales off field than ever gotten before. Question is how many dollars per bale do I offer neighbor for 1st cut of wet alfalfa, as it stands now he would bale, he has his own baler, both of us have JD 568 balers. Like all these deals a fair price for both of us is the key, the hauling and wrapping would be on me.
