I agree that some species will make the strips not as nice. But depending on the cover and rig it should be okay. You may find you can save some on fertilizer. But I would recommend soil and tissue testing for micros and adding to the strip blend accordingly. Far greater chances of root interception and return than broadcast. And strip all 30" crops too. Make your blends specific to the crop to be planted. As far as vrt goes I think strip till far outshines spreader equipment. Much slower speeds and narrower passes. I can change rates for even the smallest of ranges to match up with my planter vrt. I'll attach an example. This is what has worked for me you will I'm sure have your own learning curve.
