I've looked at some oats for the local feed mill, they're buying them out of ND and freight makes them about $6/bu when they get here. Problem is our weather is so fickle it's hard to guess what you're gonna get, if it's hot and dry in May you'll have low yield, light oats or you could have real good oats.

When I asked about price he told me anywhere from $2-4/bu totally dependent on weight


Just off my impression of Nebraska weather I doubt you’d have great success. I’m thinking I’m more in oats growing territory and it’s a crap shoot here. Some years awesome oats other years piss poor.
