Subject: Calf question

central kansas reno county
So I've got a dumb maybe even stupid question to ask you guys. We have a small cow calf herd that we always background the calves off the momma til about now. Well we was gonna sell either last week or in the next couple weeks. We run them on wheat pasture/Canola pasture. We hand carry grain to them and feed them in bunks. About 60 or so right now calves. They are weighing somewhere around 775 to probably 950 on some of them. Wondering what we should be doing. Always wondered about sending them to the feedlot ourselves, bit not sure if that is something we wanna get into, bit with the way the market is wondering if it wouldn't be the smart thing to do. Just don't know what this consists of doing and if we can make any of our money back. I know there are a lot of unknowns. These are all home raised calves and we don't protect ourselves on the board with them. Our grazing isn't coming back like I thought it might so this is why I'm asking. Thanks guys
