Subject: TMR Mixer question

Lancaster PA
We have had a knight 3042 reel auger mixer for 7 years for our dairy. We feed 120 cows 2 times s day, corn silage and rye/tritical silage, and grain. The mixer has done great for us, bought it pretty cheap and never had any major issues but everything is starting to get worn and not really worth relining again. This week the bottom auger bearing went out and the stub shaft broke out of the auger. I think we are going to fix it for now, but are in the market for another one. Most of what I can find around here are vertical mixers. My 2 questions are;, if I'm feeding all chopped forage is a vertical mixer as good as a reel? Is it worth it to find another one like I have and keep mine for parts? Gears, bearings ect.
