Subject: RE: Homemade Ascend

Northeast Nebraska
I was researching the label for Bio-Forge and was debating whether to try some
one year. I stumbled across the patent for it and surprisingly it seemed easy to
make and it spelled out the recipe. Now some people on here will say that what I
make is missing the magic ingredients that Stoller adds but I doubt it. The recipe I
use is what was patented and also matches the MSDS sheet for it. Cost of the
ingredients will run about $1.50 per acre.
For 40 acres:
Dissolve 5 cups of dry urea in 1.5 quarts of formic acid
Stir / shake very well because it takes 15 minutes or more to totally dissolve
At room temp let that mix sit for 1-2 weeks until it recrystallizes.
Once it is mostly resolidified add 5 gallons of water
Stir until dissolved - may take a while and if doesn't totally dissolve the next step
will help the process
Add around 4.2 pounds of dry potassium hydroxide (lye) slowly
Check the pH - may take more or less pot. hyd. - want final pH around 5
Makes 5 gallons and use rate is 1 pt / acre
