Subject: RE: Direct command / Incommand 1200 setup issues

Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn.
A possibility is that you have not set a rate for your testing. You would have had to choose a product for testing. If you have never used this product before because it is new, the target rate will default to zero. You need to enter a nonzero rate. Be certain that a target rate other than zero is entered and try your setup again. This may do the trick. Even if this takes care of the problem, the information below may be helpful.

The Ag Leader will require a Master switch which you apparently have. It may be wired as the usual Master but it may be wired to use one of the "E" switch inputs.

The color of the connector on your Master Tee will be helpful. If the connectors are green then the Master Tee should plug into Switch A on the Auxiliary Input Module and then the boom sections switch wire connector which should also be green should plug into it. In other words, if all those connectors are green they should plug together and go to the green port. If so the Master is the default F1.

If the Master Tee connectors are brown then your tee should plug into the Brown connector Switch B. The boom cable should have a green connector and plug into the Green connector switch A. The other brown connector on the tee would not be used but could be in other situations. Then the Master would be using one of the E switch inputs.

I would suggest doing the following even if setting the target rate seemed to have helped as this process might be helpful in the future. Go to diagnostics for the Auxiliary Input module. You should see a chart of switches. This diagram will list all the various switches that "could" be connected to the Auxiliary Input Module. The boxes can be three different colors. I'm not positive of the exact colors but you will get the idea. Black means a switch is present but OFF, Green means a switch is present and ON, Gray means a switch is not detected. Ag leader switches need to be the Single Pole Double Throw type. This means three wires are involved and one pair are connected in the ON position and a different pair in the OFF position.

Observe the colors on the screen. There are various possibilities. By default the system will expect the Master to be F1, then F2 - Fx+1 will be the boom switches. Test the boom switches first. Flipping each Boom switch should cause its location to change from Green/Black. Remember that Boom Section 1 is F2 and so on.

Flipping the Master switch should cause either F1 or one of the E boxes to switch from Green/Black. Which ever one changes is the Master. If it is F1 then the default setting of using F1 for the Master is correct. If one of the E boxes changes then it must be set as the Master. If flipping the Master does not change F1 or one of the E boxes to change there is a wiring problem.

Suppose you determine that the Master is one of E locations (this would be the case if the Master tee is brown and plugged into Switch B) and one of the E boxes changed from Green/Black. If this is the case then the configuration needs to be changed slightly. On your InCommand go to Setup, select your sprayer configuration, then the small wrench, then push Auxiliary Input. A chart should appear showing what switches are assigned to what job. Over on the right you should see Master Source with a drop down menu. Push the down arrow and you should see the various E (external) switch choices. Choose the one that changed color when you flipped the Master above. This switch will now be considered the Master.

Test the system again remembering that a nonzero target rate is necessary for the valves to open.
