Subject: RE: Yield and tile maps

My experience is that with the wider spacings is that you end up with dry strips on each side of the tile & the centers will be wet. We currently rent a field like that. Laterals are on 100' spacings. Usually after the strips over the tile are dry you still need to wait a few days before you can work the middles. Pretty obvious on yield maps where the tile is. Have seen in wet falls where we could harvest the tiled strips but had to wait till ground was frozen to harvest the centers. To add to the problems corn towns were at a right angle to the tile lines.

One suggestion, if going with the wider spacings for now you might consider running the laterals deeper if possible. That will allow the tile to draw from a wider area. Offset is it will be slower to dry.
