5" tile on 100' spacing was fairly common here back in the '70s & '80s. Most of what I had done that way we have either abandoned or come back in and split. Last year even split some 100s into 33'. Now I wo t do anything more than 50', have even split some of that into 25s in low ground, or 40' Difference in yields will more than pay for the extra tile
