Subject: RE: top dressing corn question

Iowa
Didn't have dry fert or nh3 on last year and went ahead and planted. Had high clearance machine apply 120 lbs N as urea, 30 lbs P as MAP 30 lbs K as Potash and 100 lbs of Cal Sul for 17 lbs sulfur at about V5. Worked well, and glad I did it that way the way things turned out. Had another 100 lbs of urea or 46 lbs N flown on with an airplane 1 week before tassel too. The only thing I noticed was the outside 8 rows around the field seemed short of N because the spreader half rates that or else you throw it outside your field. My corn was good where I had stand in the 250s, I had a lot of drown outs and zeros. Corn made 170 which was impressive considering how many acres had no corn.
