Dad and I take the row units off our corn planter and move the fertilizer rows over around 4-5". We then band the dry fertilizer with the corn planter. Unconventional, but it's cheap and does the job. lol We also don't run big acres.

Thanks for the info. Can I ask what kind of pelleted chicken litter you get. I have only found one place that sells bulk and it is like $400 for a freakin 2000lbs tote. I am also wanting to try surface banding over top of my corn rows this year with some 46-0-0 and perhaps some type of sulfur.

Its kind of funny because every time I am searching the web for info on cover crops and soil health your picture shows up on everything. lol
