Sorry to hear about you getting it in your eyes. Hope you get over it quick.

I’m only mildly allergic to it so I can usually get rid of the rash with just Cortizone 10 cream in a few days. But it’s still something I try hard to avoid. Poison Oak seemed to be worse and would cause big blisters.

Several years ago we were burning a lot of brush and stopped by the VFD to let them know about it in case a call should come in about the smoke. Later on that day, a couple of firemen stopped by to check on the fires. They saw a big area of poison ivy and said they hoped we knew better than to burn it. I stated that we were aware of the dangers. They told of how one guy didn’t believe it and he not only got it in both eyes but also ended up getting the rash and inflammation down his throat. It caused breathing difficulties so they ended up taking him by ambulance to the hospital. Makes me wonder if it gets in the lungs as well. Sounds like it does or can.
