Southwestern Minnesota | Her comment about "this is being recorded" was in response to the sugar industry providing funding for the research about sugar. Her reply was good in that the tobacco industry did the same thing and that when there seemed to be a conflict of interest then the tobacco industry provided funding for more independent research to be done. I think she thought that was the way that the research with sugar should be handled as well. I agree.
I actually thought that there were quite a few in attendance. It was not an event intended for the public. It was a presentation that residents and medical students do as part of their studies for other students and their colleagues. Grand Rounds are intended to be topics of current and interesting information that allow medical students to present research. She did a good job. I think it's great that they put it on a YouTube video so a wider audience could see the information.
