Subject: Professor Tim Noakes

Pittsburg, Kansas
Yep, that is a good one.

Tim Noakes is a great one to listen to. He was a distance runner athelete. He followed all the guidelines and was very healthy looking and fit on the outside but was TOFI. Thin on outside, fat on inside. At middle age diagnosed diabetic and went on a personal mission to find out why a person can do everything "right" by conventional wisdom and guidelines and still end up terribly sick inside.

Through that discovery process he researched the subject and realized that insulin resistance is the problem. He adopted a low carb lifestyle and reversed his diabetes. He is also a professer researcher as well as a medical doctor and has adopted the low carb message to help the professional athletes he trained (he has recently retired) and obese and diabetic people in his practice.

He wrote a book on athletic performance and now says disreguard the chapter on diet and "carb loading", that he got it all wrong. Now he recomends elite athletes to adopt a ketogenic diet for performance.

He knows of what he speaks, both from a personal journey and lots of inquiry into research papers and even controlled experiments. One of the giants in the low carb movement.
