I have some pics taken every year by a private photograph with an ULM (ultra light plane) for evaluating damages related to boars on corn.
This year, I saw some color differences that I can relate to soil specs.
It gives me a good comparison tool from 1 year to another, as the pics are taken at the same period and a similar state of maturity.
I think I will have to order another set in summer to see how crop develops.

Don't know if there is a similar service in your area, but for me this is what works so far. Some fellow farmers go to the local airfield and book an hour or so to inspect their farms, and their neighbour's too by the way.
