Canmore Ab. Canada
Hi Mitch, Good to hear from you.
Yes the weather is starting to break here too. We are starting to see the ground a few places. We also still have some six foot drifts around the yards a few places. We have moved more snow this winter than I can ever remember. We have not seen the ground since November. The irrigation water supply in the mountains west of us is still a bit lower than normal but they often get spring snows to top up the reserve.
Last week we had a couple mornings of minus 25 and minus 30 C. This week is forcast to be in the plus 5-10 C range in the days and minus 5-10 C at nights.
We started rebuilding a house on one of our properties about a month ago for our son. It is a 1400 sq ft with a full basement. We stripped it to the bones inside and out and are to the point of drywall and windows and siding now. Needed to get it done but kinda puts us in a rush to finish before summer gets busy.
David Kohl comes to Brooks this week so I look forward to hearing his synopsis of the economic situation now vs. January. Royal Bank brings him in every once in a while and they have an invitation only event. Should be good.
Trucking hay and grass, waiting to deliver grain and book work fill out the schedule. Nothing even near the fields yet so we are a bit behind you.
Take care. Dan...
