Chrome seems to sync well across several computers and/or mobile devices so your favourites and log-ins are easy to access. Firefox will do that too but somehow not as slick as the google offering. Those are the main two there are others, typically they all have one or two nice features may or may not be useful to you.
Pretty well stated. I use Chrome because google keeps your bookmarks... and also passwords IF you allow it to. I also like google backup and synch.
One other thing I like is LastPass. I use this as my password manager. Very secure and auto fills passwords IF you want it to.
