No. I may not understand the process properly from memory.

But from what I recall, the liver takes our adipose tissue (fat) and processes it into ketones and I think some other minor stuff like acetone. But ketones are the main fuel derived from our stored body fat.

There are some really good videos I have posted in the past that goes all through that process, but me recalling the mechanisms correctly is a stretch.

Basically our fat is stored up groceries. The way the stored up groceries comes out of storage to be used is via the liver producing ketones. I believe LDL is the transportation for the triglicerides that the liver processes. It is something like that, but that is probably not technically correct.

The body WILL preferentially utilize viceral fat before subcutaneous fat (will burn organ fat before belly fat). So it will attempt to heal the liver and pancreas before the belly fat.
