I think you can make things better by changing your diet to lessen inflammation in your body. I am sure that I have made the RA in my hands much more tolerable by eating things like cherries and nuts and lots of legumes and whole grains. Ibuprofen works pretty good for controlling pain and inflammation too if he can stand it. Check this link and check other reputable sites like Mayo and others.
