I am an ISU alum working the Mississippi Delta and there are quite a few things to see.  Stop in Memphis at the Cotton Museum that would be a different crop to learn about.   If you can make time, as suggested above, take hwy 61 from Memphis to Vicksburg you will like the drive and see some new things.  Corn planting in the south delta has been running pretty hard until it got dry and the forecast has been for rain.  Hopefully there will be enough rain to get the beds into good shape again.  Drop me an email if you are coming on hwy 61 I could show you around a bit if you have time.
