We have one of those plastic collapsible bowls that goes i9n the microwave that works if you're in a hurry and don't want to mess with much. My preference is a pan on the gas stove with lard -- kinda the old fashioned way. I pop the corn and then melt my butter in the same pan. Not starting an argument but I don't believe in having to use a "stirring device" or shaking the pan as the popcorn pops. A long time ago a friend of mine taught me that it doesn't need shaken or stirred. He said that the kernels are popping and automatically go to the top leaving the unpopped kernels in the bottom. Works for me and it doesn't burn either. Try it sometime. I start with the stove on high until the first kernel pops and then put the stove on medium. Soon as you hear it slow down popping remove and dump. Simple and works....at least for me.

Same thing we use except we use canola oil
