Fruita CO | The 2-53 was a little too much torque for the 430 rear end, actually. Mine has had the ring and pinion replaced. . . a 1010 r& p will fit and is a little stronger. I had to weld up teeth on both bull gears too, after it was at my Mom's place for a while and my teenage cousin was a little rough on it. I don't pull it hard any more, and took the fluid out of the tires.
I in-framed a 6V53 in a IH former mixer truck my BIL made into a mobile wash truck. The redi-mix company here ran those same trucks for years, I bet they had 100 of them old screamers over the years . . . | |
