How much memory do they have? Windows 10 will run on 2 GB, but really should have 4 GB to make it happy.

What processor is in each PC? Something built within the last ~8 years or so is good enough for Windows 10.

If you're going to keep the machine, get a solid state hard drive (SSD). You can get a Samsung 500 GB SSD for $60. This alone will be a huge speed boost to any computer compared to the spinning disk type of hard drive. I honestly don't know why any company would sell a new computer today with the old style drives as the boot drive.

If you upgrade from 7 Pro, you'll end up with 10 Pro.
