| Hello, I'm new around here, but my husband had the same problem about a year ago. We found a sight online to buy new heavy duty brass zippers.
If you (or some angel of a woman who loves you) has a sewing machine and a seam ripper, it is a simple thing to take out the old and sew on a new one.
I did this on a few of my husbands heavy insulated zip-hoodies.
I don't recommend this for the heavy coat material unless you have the proper sewing machine.
