I once tried glucosamine and chondroitin for arthritic pain. I ended up with miserable muscle pain. For that reason alone statins don't appeal to me. That said, I've yet to speak with a pharmacist who will take them themselves unless there is absolutely no other option. Big money makers. I once had a primary care who was nuts about me wanting to stop taking an anti-depressant when my mom was first diagnosed with memory problems. He WANTED me taking it into infinity. I gave him an option: wean me off or I'll stop it myself.
My masseuse had a similar situation with some of her meds. Did some research and went the holistic route. Doing very well with her regimen.
I wonder how many needless prescriptions are now written because of Part D Medicare. | |
