I don't know what combine you are planning on, but the limiting factor is how many bushels per hour can this combine handle without throwing it out the back? In my case with a 9860 in dry corn 3200-3400 bph is all it can handle. I have run 7 mph in 230 BPA corn with a 8 row head, when I switched to a 12 row head I slowed down to under 5 mph to do the same bushels per hour. So my answer is unless you are working with low yielding corn, forget about a 16 row head and buy a RTK autosteer system, bulk rows won't be an issue, and you will really enjoy the autosteer benefits. My opinion.
