queensland Australia
I have installed the JD universalI steering wheel in a Case 2366 combine , Irun a no till operation on permanent tramlines , I have a JD8000 series tractor that Ive got on a 120" track to suit the combine , the planters and combine are both 30' wide, the rows for wheat are 13" apart so that doesnt give alot of room for error , we are still playing around with the settings on it but it does a pretty good job provided the crop is not laying over . With a combine you must get the machine straight and with less than 10" error prior to engaging the auto steer so it doesnt veer side to side .
It cost about 8300 Australian$ to install ( I had all the other gear already)
If I get something better , the old 4440 will get the kit permanenttly but I will persist with it with wheat for another year , its terrific in wide row crops such as sorghum and chickpea .... and I cant go back to steering the combine manually !!!
