Subject: cost

Pittsburg, Kansas
One thing often brought up about eating so much meat is the cost. Yes, when you go out to eat, at least in our case where we used to fill up on the baked potato and sides, eating out will be more expensive. And our grocery meat cost has definitely went up.

But we don't buy chips, cookies, cakes, soda pop (although down here we do buy sparkling soda flavored soda water - at home we have a soda machine) and a whole host of other groceries we used to buy. You can literally skip most of the middle isles of the grocery store.

I have not actually tracked it, but my estimation is that we spend about the same on groceries as we used to. We just spend it on different things now. Mostly meat.

If a person was living on potatos, rice and beans, then yes low carb will definitely be more expensive. But if a person was buying a bunch of boxed and processed food along with a bunch of junk food, it might actually be cheaper.
