| If you could find the right person I would just make it easy and pay salary. Set the rules when he has to be there and in the down times things would be flexible to work with him on his personal time/vacation needed.
I know a couple guys that operate this way and the person they have hired usually goes and above and beyond what they are paid, they just like being around the farm and operation. I think one of the growers pays his hired man 41,000/yr. (similar to your operation)
