North central, IA | I think problems one and two are related. I wonder if some of the plastic or some of the gasket material around the radiator is loose and allowing air to enter someplace other than through the air screen. If, when the radiator fan sucks a vacuum, something opens up to allow air in, then returns to its proper position after the vacuum is relieved, you might hear a what sounds like the fan speeding up and slowing down but what you are really hearing is the fan moving more air then less air, etc.
You might try removing the disrupters in corn. It sounds like you just have too much threshing action. I think with the big rotor in the xx8x machines its more difficult to get whole cobs out the back. Where are your vanes set? I tend to run the bottom sieve all the way open too but when we do that its not really doing anything. I wonder if you should try opening the top a smidgen and then closing the bottom to about where you have the top set now.
Just my thoughts - probably worth what you paid for them.
