Subject: Re: First time skeet shooter

Near Richmond, IN
I've never shot skeet but shot trap for years. I think it's one of the best sports there is as you can do it anytime of year, in any weather and at any age. You can shoot trap with any gun although ones set up for trap work quite a bit better and the cost can vary from $500 to $1000 for a low level gun on up to several thousands. I always thought trap (and skeet, I imagine) was quite a bit cheaper to shoot than sporting clays-of course I'm comparing them at gun clubs-not at home as it's difficult to set up a sporting clays shoot at home.
If you get into it enough to participate in shoots at gun clubs shooting at home will just mess up your timing so I got to the point that I wouldn't do it, but it's a pretty good sport and you can crank out the handloads pretty fast.
