Subject: RE: Hay auction today ~ Pic's

central - east central Minnesota -
Far as I know, all hay is price by the ton - there was a load of nice alfalfa / orchard grass 8.9 ton (18 bales 3x3x4) Relitive feed value 140, protien 17% and dry 13% - $70 ton - $34.61 bale. That's was pretty cheap for that nice green soft hay with those feed values. That's about 2 bucks a bale in small squares. I only stayed for a 1/2 hr and needed to keep going. There was a fair bit of grass types of hays there . .  . I think (I maybe wrong) most of the buyers at the sale are dairy guys - so grass isn't going to bring the same money as a buyer will pay off craigslist for their horse, goat or calf .  . . It's a good guide to work with though . . .
