39.48, -82.98 | Ah, my favorite OS. I'm going to miss it after January. My old Win 7/64 desktop has been rock solid...but it's time to move on. I may try the trick people report to do the free upgrade to 10, but that's probably not worth the risk of heartache on a 9 year old computer. It might be the next Linux project box.
I would have some reservations about running running a mission-critical program on anything less than the most secure platform available. I suppose you could totally isolate it from the Internet, but that would get old. Plus, the computer is already old.
SQL server should definitely load on Windows 7. I was very happy to see it pop up in the installation process. Quality parts, plenty of capacity.
I guess my only suggestion is to try it on a Windows 10 desktop or one of your laptops. CenterPoint has a nice, clean interface...but I think it looks better on a desktop's larger screen. I have used both but will take the desktop hands down if I have much work to do on it. | |
