Red Wing CenterPoint won't work or install on my PC.  It crashed during an update of the software and I can't get it to install or repair the installation.

It always comes up with the above error during a new or repair installation.  I've removed the software, re-installed, called support and had them remove and re-install, ran the Fix-It tool, ran CCleaner and cleaned my registry, tried a custom install without the sample database to hopefully avoid any SQL errors.

Install hangs at this error at the installation of the sample database.  Close and try to open the program directly and it hangs at opening an xml file.

Red Wing support says the issue is on my end and not with their software.  And it probably is, not that that helps me do bookkeeping right now.  So they tried a little bit to help and told me to 'Google it'.

Ideas on where to look or what to try next?  Google searches aren't very productive ...
