Subject: Re: Sinus surgery, revisted

Too close to Raleigh, NC
Mine got packed about 15 years ago but it came out the next morning. Always was a fast healer/non-bleeder, though. A friend of the family had all kinds of trouble with his surgery and had told me horror stories about his experience. I never got a black eye or even changed the gauze under my nose overnight. Had 100% blocked on one side and 80% on the other due to sports injuries (played too much basketball with taller guys with elbows at my nose height). Doctor said my sinuses were completely impacted and that I should have been in the hospital due to the infection being harbored in the sinus cavities. Everything worked perfectly for me - got it done on Thursday morning, packing out on Friday morning, and was mowing fields on Saturday (I did have a dust mask on but probably was not a smart thing to do anyway).

I have been told that the sleep apnea surgery is much worse than the sinus roto-rooting operation. Don't think I want to find out.
