I really like mine except it will not fit my new .17HMR. Mine is the type that fits in the muzzle end of the barrel and is adjustable from .22 to .54 caliber. I like to sit in my house at the kitchen table and point it at a tree on the far side of the yard (which has a safe backdrop). It works to help line up iron sights as well as scopes.
